Advert 3- Frank Giggles Vs Panic Attacks

The third advert I analysed is 'Frank Giggles Vs Panic Attacks' this advert informs people about cannabis use and why it's bad. The message the advert is trying to give is when you smoke weed you can get the giggles and some panic attacks along with some other side affects but these are the main ones shown in the advert. It's showing how cannabis can turn nasty the more you mess with it the more it messes with your mind, unlike most adverts they say the message they're trying to give towards the end to make it clear to the audience it isn't a joking matter even though they've tried to add some comedy. Comedy has been added to catch the listeners attention. Theirs two voice overs at the start these are 'giggles' and 'panic attacks', the advert is making it clear that the voice overs are someones thoughts after they've smoked cannabis and it shows how it can mess with your mind. Theirs also another voice over towards the end, it's a males voice talking about the message that they're trying to give and also where to get more information from 'to find out more visit talktofrank.com or text your question to 82111.' Their isn't any slogans in this radio advert but their is a tagline, 'giggles' repeats 'that's funny' throughout the beginning in answer to everything 'panic attack' says which obviously annoys him. Then theirs a sound effect added, it's things crashing around for a few seconds. The advert makes it clear what's happening with the voice over 'panic attack is choking me, im suffocating.'  They've followed all of the RACC guidelines on drugs 'Anti-drug messages must be placed by registered charities or by bodies recoginsed by the relevant Government department/s. Claims about the effects of the particular drug must be adequately substantiated.

Advert 2- WeWantAnyCar.com

The second advert I analysed is a 'WeWantAnyCar.com' advert, the purpose of this advert is to promote the company and to raise the brands awareness. Within seconds of the advert it's obvious what company it's advertising 'WeWantAnyCar.com'. The USP for this radio advert is that they'll buy any car no matter what and in any situation. The advert says theirs '3 simple steps', usually when someone sells a car theirs loads of paperwork so this tells the audience why they're better than other car companies. The voice over is 2 males, one has a normal 'common' voice where as the others voice has been edited to make it sound 'jokey' this has added comedy to the advert. Theirs also music quietly playing throughout the advert, it makes it catchy. Instead of making a song like majority of this companies adverts they've just added a 'tune' with 2 males talking about the company which is still quite catchy. Within a few seconds of the advert theirs clicking on a computer keyboard and a computer mouse in the background while this happens it sounds like someone from the company is speaking to a seller and he's typing what they're saying and saying it out loud 'You're selling 3 mini's? A red one, a white one and a blue one? and you'd like a quick no-nonsense sale?', this helps promote the company and shows they're an easy company to go with. Theirs also a locking sound on a car this shows what they're promoting with sound effects as well as voice overs.  In the RACC guidelines it mentions certain sound effects that shouldn't be used in adverts because it can put the driver off but in this advert the sound effects are quite and you can only just hear them in the background. 'Care is needed when employing sound effects related to cars and driving which may create a safety hazard to those listening while driving, e.g screeching tyres, car horns, revving, engines, sirens, smashing glass, vehicle crashes.'

Advert 1- It's ok Nando's

The first advert that I analysed was the 'It's OK advert from Nando's.' When I analysed this I realized its purpose was to inform and raise brand awareness about Nando's, it's trying to promote Nando's. The advert is making people aware of Nando's and the food that it sells, but it doesn't have any persuasive content and doesn't promote any special offers or sales. The purpose of the advert is to raise the brands awareness and it's also trying to say it's a celebration to go to Nando's. The voice over is in a Portuguese accent which tells the audience that the type of food that Nando's sell is Portuguese. The accent is obviously someone putting on a accent, it's clear they're not Portuguese. This is borderline offensive and it could be seen offensive to people from Portugal, but it has been allowed. RACC states 'When different nationalities or regional accents are used in advertisement scenarios, care is needed so as not to cause offence by negative stereotyping or by ridiculing the relevant country, region or racial group.'  Not only does this advert use an accent but also stereotypes Portuguese by saying  'If your eyebrows join in the middle like my sister, Pawla' . The voice over is a male and he's tried to make the advert 'jokey' and he repeats 'It's OK' throughout the advert (slogan.) Also the music in the advert shows the audience what type of food Nando's sell, at the beginning of the advert theirs an acoustic guitar in the background this is known as a Guitarra Portuguesa. Their's 15/16 seconds of Mariachi music, this also shows what type of food they sell. There are not other sound affects in this advert. Straight away you know what company the advert promoting because within a few seconds of the advert they mention the product name 'Nando's.'
